The new action features an Anson & Deely style boxlock action and has a unique disconnectable ejector system which gives the user the option of selecting automatic ejector or extractor operation on this shotgun model. 2001EL Sporter Configuration The features that distinguish the Merkel 2001EL Sporter from the regular Merkel 2001EL are the longer barrels (30" on the 12-gauge, 28" on the 20 and 28 gauge), the Skeet/Improved Cylinder chokes, and the ventilated forearm which allows the barrels to cool quicker. Stocked in luxury grade Turkish Walnut and hand engraved with a hunting scene on the receiver, this Sporter model is an excellent choice for clay shooting enthusiasts.
