called Rigby's Last Rooster. Also, looking for one he wrote about building double rifles on Ruger O/U shotguns. Does anyone have a copy of those you would be willing to share? Perhaps I have one of his articles that you might need. Thanks!

Bryan, That article is the one that stands out in my memory as being one of the best Seyfried has ever written. After I posted about it in that thread referenced above I sat down on the floor with stacks of old DGJs and looked through them all until I found it, and reread it. Then ................I put them away and did not make a notation as to which issue it was in. ( Fred Sanford would have said, "You big dummy!) Maybe someone who has the last Index and Reader can look it up. I have the first Index and Reader, which encompasses 1990-1996, but not the next, and that article was written after the first I & R was published. I'll bet someone on here has the second I & R and will look it up for us.

Matter of fact, I'm going to order the second one today. It's a travesty that I don't have it already.

Welcome to the board, don't be a stranger.

Thanks for the welcomes. I was a member here long ago with a different email and login and have lost that info so I'm registering again. It has been a long time since I posted. It's good to be back.

I found it! It's in DGJ volume 10, issue 3, Autumn '99 starting on page 109. I'm very happy to have found it again. I used to have most of the DGJ issues and sold them at one point. That was a mistake. So I'm getting them back and bought some more last week. Thankfully, this was in that group but I didn't realize it until after Stan posted.

FWIW, there is an index of DGJ volumes 1-26 at this link...that's how I found it.

Bryan, maybe I'm slow but what a great idea for searching, given the slow arrival of Index Volume 3.

I have all of the DGJ except for a couple in volume 2. I have the printed indexes, Volumes 1 & 2. I have looked at those pages you linked to, printed in issues as well as on line, a million times. But it never occurred to me to use them for searching articles. Duh!

I've now screen shot them all and have them easily accessible in my "guns" folder. Don't even need to be on the "net".

I've got the 2 indexes ordered but that link is pretty handy! I like the idea of using screenshots of it. Good thinking.

On using shotguns to build double rifles, I don't own any examples of that. Seyfried wrote an article for Guns & Ammo (I believe) that talked about using the Ruger Red Labels with sleeved barrels. He had several examples in his article that were interesting.

Ed, if you want to learn more get:

Building Double Rifles On Shotgun Actions by W. Ellis Brown.

Excellent book. Not hard to find.

Thanks. It's a great forum and I've been gone too long. Lots of good material here. I do a lot of reading in the archives.
