A very unusual hammer gun is in my hands. The maker is R. Scott on a jones under-lever 10 bore action. Sounds normal enough so far. Original 26&9/16" barrels, high dimensions, 1& 1/2" x 2", and a staight grip stock with an early rifle style metal pistol grip. This gun handles much more like a rifle than a shotgun. The only marks on the flats are 11 and 766, R Scott and crown and crossed lances over V, and what I believe ia a crown over BP. No rifling is apparent to the eye and barrel wall are pretty thin. I just swear this gun was designed to shoot ball of some kind. Any thoughts? Thanks,
Steve
