Wm. Moore & Co. 12 bore, circa 1870’s

Weight: 8+ pounds

Barrels:
2 3/4” chambers
32”, heavy, fine english twist, recently re-browned
MWT: R- .061 L- .047
Bores: R- .713 L- .712
Chokes: Cylinder
Bore condition: Good with very light frosting/pitting. Ample wall thickness to hone and polish, possibly even add some choke.
Ribs: Tight

Action:
Back action, non-rebounding locks, very nice quality.
Left Hand side lever, trigger guard and screw all show 100% recent blacking. Pins all fire blued, 100% color.
Barrels are tight to the action and on the face.

Wood:
100% recent hand rubbed oil finish. Buttplate polished, refitted and screws fire blued. Checkering is original and very good. No cracks, damage etc.
Stock dimensions are approximately (I say approximately because it’s hard to measure the actual dimensions with the hammers in the way!!)
14 3/16” lop, 2 3/4” DAH, 1 1/2” DAC
Cast looks neutral.


A very nice vintage English hammergun. This would make a really nice vintager clay gun, or maybe even a waterfowler!
