The white shells I saw being loaded into a gun looked to be 2 1/2", which is what i would expect them to be. Most .410 sporting courses I've shot need no more than 1/2 oz. shot to crush all the targets.

Mike, 3" shells could be used here for competition as long as the shoot was not a NSCA registered shoot.
