Richard was a class act. I met him through the LACA in my late 20s. I spoke with and/or listened to him at a few Southern SxS events and 1 or two NE SxS. I thought he was the CA or DA in Manhattan at the time, but I’m not sure specifically. In any case he was very down to earth and quite approachable. We exchanged a few guns over the years, I even sent him back a Lefever I bought from him, a few years later, because it matched a wanted description he posted. I was saddened to hear the news and feel the double gun or bird hunting fraternity lost a good guy. I will chase down a copy of his book. I’m sure it will be worth the read.
