Many years ago (I still had my hair in a ponytail) I met Sherman Bell at one of the Heritage Arms shows. A friend of mine was an acquaintance of his, and introduced me as a fellow writer for the mag (I am just a one trick pony). We had a real nice conversation, and he was selling surplus DGJ magazines, as he got a authors pre publication copy in addition to his regular subscription. He noted, “I hope they don’t turn out to be valuable collectors items someday, selling them at this price” which, may have been $5 a magazine. I told him he would feel a whole lot worse if the most collectible magazines turned out to be the ones we didn’t have an article in.
We had a real good laugh.

The best magazine I ever bought a subscription to.

Best,
Ted
