eightbore Sidelock Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 14,126 Likes: 198 Maryland	Have patience. My Griffin and Howe repro Silver pad is slick as a frog's tummy. I installed it in 1986 and it has been "smooth" for at least 30 years with no treatment. It is impossible to tell it from a 100 year old Silver original.
