Guys, I’m just trying to aggregate information based in this century.
A set of 28” screw choked monoblocked extractor 20 ga barrels are varying little between manufacturers.
I wish Miller was here to elaborate on the next part. He had a great grasp on what was happening with barrel construction.
Essentially, they can only be so light. (Under current market constraints, ammo etc)
If a manufacturer is going to make an ultralight anything, they either have to abandon screw chokes, and the ribs, or make the receiver out of some kind of alloy with a hard steel breach face. And people don’t seem to like that.
As I continue to poke around, I’m just not seeing any manufacturers taking the mass out of the tubes.
The Beretta/Rizzini style bolting allows for some mass to be removed from the monoblock vs the Browning style.
