If you can source a book called The Gunmakers of Lincolnshire and its Environs by Tom Wimsey ISBN 978-0-9551622-3-7 I bought my copy direct from the printers at e-mail smithbrown@basiliscoe.fsnet.co.uk . That was the details in 2012 so worth a try. Loads of information including a photo of the premises at 60, Eastgate, Louth and Market Place, Retford in 1920. Depicted in the book are some pictures of receipts from the Grove Street address in 1895 and again in 1903 later moving to Bridgegate and Moorgate and ceased trading in 1969 as a tool maker at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Much information in the book. I have some 'West & Son, by Royal Appointment' cartridges in my collection called the Grand National. The Royal Appointment bit is because he was asked to supply cartridges to Prince Nicholas of Greece when he was shooting nearby. Try also
