I recently acquired a John Dubiel stocked & barreled Winchester Model 52.

In the course of researching it, I saw that another Dubiel Win 52 was used by R.C. Pope (1901-1988, no relation to barrel-maker Harry Pope) to help the US win the 1939 Pershing Trophy in the UK.

Mr. Pope lived in Dallas, TX, only ~2 hrs from the Dubiel Arms Co. shop in Ardmore, OK. Using a bit of Google-fu, I was able to find Pope's grandson. He still has the rifle, lives fairly close to me, and let me stop by and take some photos, comparing Pope's SN 18072 gun (top) with my SN 19011 gun (bottom):
