The real history and the history that should be taught in the south is that the south fought for the ability own human beings and subjugate them into forced labor, acts now considered as war crimes.

Every single person who took up arms against their country should have been executed and their family disabused of all assets and redistributed directly to the enslaved population.

Treason should have harsh consequences on the perpetrators.
