Miller: since you did not address the "Curse of Ham", may we assume that you affirm it? That the happy and well treated slaves your family owned were predestined by God to serve them? They did not of course make a "free will" choice to be enslaved, and probably didn't have a choice to just walk away after the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation in 1862. Have you discussed this with your distant cousin?
