Stan;
I am of course in full agreement with that statement. I am currently serving as Camp commander of the B F Cheatam Camp 72 of the Starnes Division of the TN division of the SCV. Interestingly Starnes was the commander of the 4th Tenn Volunteer Cavalry which one of my Great Grandfathers served under for the duration of the war. Starnes was shot & killed by a sniper during the Tullahoma Campaign about 15 miles from where I presently live. McLemore then assumed command for the rest of the War. This cavalry unit worked very closely with N B Forest & I am quite certain G Grandfather Fulks was with Forrest when he chased Able Strait across North Alabama & then tricked him into surrendering without a battle.

Both of these organizations are doing all within our power to set a lot of records straight & to honor those Great Men for standing up for they believed was Right, & it WAS NOT all about Slavery.
