I have been rust blacking and browning for some time, some of the formulas I use when browning do not take as well as they should I watch the barrels dry after they have been coated cold a nice rust appears but the closer you get to the breech the thinner the covering of rust becomes, this sometimes results in a barrel that is a nice colour one end but too light the other I know the metal is thicker there but should that make any difference? has anyone else had this problem? does anyone know how to overcome this, any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
