I will weigh out my 4's tonight to see how they do. I appreciate the thoughts on velocity, as you can see my experience is with steel. My secondary gun is vintage so I'd thought I'd try bismuth this season.
My 10 ga. blackpowder load will probally do in the area of 1200. I've found I need more compression to match the Republic Mettalic 10 ga load of 5 drams of bp and 1 1/8oz of #4 bismuth. It does pattern very well though. I'll probally go with a little less powder to gain the space I need for a better roll crimp.
My 12 ga. I'll look for something in 1220 to 1250fps velocity there seem to be lots of loads in that area. Again, thanks for the help.
