I've owned a Darne, Very well made and was fun to play with. I think it was made to work with the old paper shells of the day and even if they were swelled they could still be chambered. Also I have seen and handled a few real beaters and even these were still tight. Mine was a prewar and I didn't care for the safety. I think the later ones had a better setup.
