The opposition has been successful getting their misinformation widely circulated, and they now have a huge war chest. The Humane Society of the US has contributed $250,000 to try to defeat Prop 109. This is the organization whose leader stated “We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States… We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state.”
For those who continue to believe there is no immediate threat to hunting and fishing in Arizona, think about the above statement. While it may be true there are no specific actions at present, the goal of groups like HSUS is clear, and they have the money to back it up.
