The reason I asked this question goes back to when I was playing around with Black powder pistol and a couple of guys at the club were loading Ruger Stainless Old Army with nitro, as remember it they were using a known load for a .45 long colt and just squashing the ball in the chamber so as it cleared enough to rotate the chamber, so you got the same sort of air space in the chamber that you would in loading a .45 long colt, it seemed to work fine but I was never game try a shot with one of thier guns, I stuck to loading Black in a Club Gun

I'd tend to move as far away from those guys as possible whenever they appear on the range. You can always go to their funerals to say goodby, it's better than accompanying them in another hearse.
