A friendly engineering contest was held locally a few years back to see just how much weight could be eliminated from a Winchester 59. Two automotive engineers went at the project and trimmed their guns down from 6.5 pounds to near 5 pounds. The first round of skeet resulted in a 25 for one of the shooters, so there are people who can shoot ultralight guns. I'm not one of them.
