JOe:

Well, you've made another funny and assisted me in keeping this thread derailed. I've done analysis on wafers w/ very thin layers from the Roswell site in helping a grad school buddy demonstrate the relationship between weightlessness and a very high mag field. After the data surfaced, distance had to be made from those folk you see chasing the UFO craft on the History channel as they are staunch believers in the existance. In order to travel you are going to have to approach the speed of light and become infinitely dense and for now our molecule's mag fields are not going to allow it.

Back to the topic, does anyone have another or better pic of Eley's Universal Cartridge, or German equiv., with or without the wire cage other than the plate in "Modern Breechloaders: Sporting and Military" by W.W. Greener?

Kind Regards,

Raimey

Thanks for the informative input. Some of you guys have really amazing knowledge. Well except for the time travel! If JOe buys it, we can send him back to talk to the Manton brothers.
Back to my gun, based on what has been discussed, I find it hard to comprehend why this "non-standard" cartridge chambering and boring was performed on this gun. Especially when the availabilty of "standard" reamers and boring bars were available. The person who made this gun would have had to supply it with enough cases to be used for some time plus all the other loading paraphernalia. Seems like a lot for a shotgun.
