There are a number of them (sxs in 06) at gunbroker, etc. I bought mine at Lewis Arms in Bow,NH in Dec; he currently has 3 for sale under $900. Finally shot mine for the first time last week. After burning through 2 boxes of shells to regulate, with scope (my first BB gun had better sights than this thing)my last group was L dead bull, R inch to right on same line at 50. Triggers suck, so yet to be determined what it going to do at 100 or beyond. Not a piece of art, but fun!

I have been thinking about getting one of these Rem imports (if under $1K) and have a good smith "tune it up" right out of the box. I like iron sights in thick brush so I might even have the sight changed. The question for me is if the action strong enough to withstand a few years of 30-06 use .... or is it just a so so shotgun action.

It technically isn't a double, accually a drilling, but Blaser makes a 308,308,20GA http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=97621469 . My father and I are traditionalists when it comes to our drilling so it makes me cringe. Though I do love a good 308.

also has some double rifles in 308 and 30-06.

I'd like to think I know something, but know I don't know everything.

I have two Baikal/EEA O&U's in 30-06 and one Remington/Baikal in 30-06. I modified the one O&U with a floating rib and left one stock. Pics of my guns are at

Hi Mike,
It's actually a flexible delrin rib that has a few thousands clearance between it and the barrels. I removed the front site block/shroud by removing the one pin. Then I slid the rib between the barrels and reinstalled the block. I have to take them all out and shoot them now. I must say that the O&Us have nicer wood than the Remington, but all are nice for the money Three double rifles for $1500.00.
Finding good scope rings for the 11mm rib is another story. The low rings that I got for the Remington from Germany are really sweet.

There's a guy in Maine who does conversions of SxS shotguns to double rifles.
