On this frigid winter day I made the decision not to sit on my stand for the first in many moths and instead to photograph an old classic to share...

I have been fortunate enough to enjoy other members photo's and I hope those same folks other enjoy these...

An absolutely gorgeous rifle! What a chunk of wood! Could you provide all details?

Thanks,

JRH,

What a well done classic mauser. What is the chambering? Who did the checkering and stock work?

Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the kind words...(here is the additional detail I promised)

What is trully exceptional about this firearm is that everything about it is exceptional...right down to its travels throughout the world....

Most men always dream of owning a firearm fit for a Prince...I am happy to have realized such a dream so early in life...

Gotta wonder what could "force" Prince Whatyamacallit to sell off 1500 firearms. But looks like you were the ultimate beneficiary. I hope you hunt something with it (often!).

It's a beauty - and that is saying a lot for me when it's a bolt gun.
