https://bid.montroseauction.com/auctions/catalog/id/64

The auction site shown above is loaded with Euro model rifles, well worn English,Spanish and other shotguns etc. How are they making it to the US market? Are they being offered on consignment or likely being offered directly by the auction company??

I can't really answer any of your questions, but the Poacher's Gun below is quite neat:

They seem to have quite a supply of guns of similar shape. Most well used, refinished, sleeved etc. There are some tempting examples.I‘d be interested to know the process of them reaching our shores. Perhaps one of our friends across the pond could elaborate.

My cousin gave me one of those exact guns about 10 years ago, Raimey. They are really junk. El Faisan by name. Trigger pulls in the double digits.

Lots of low end guns going for scrap here in UK ,so there`s probably a business there for someone shipping them en mass.

Interesting Stan. I guess it was all those bicycle rides on rough roads that made it a rattletrap? Did it double on every shot? The 32 bore I have by Francotte(I think) is of a little better construction.

It is a strange looking gun, Raimey. I sort of like it. However, the sighting plane might be almost obscured by the hammers enough that the second shot could be a bit problematic, especially on right to left crossers.

Trigger pulls are usually pretty easily adjusted. Could you not do that for some reason?

Trust me, when you are on a Bicycle on a pothole ridden back-road with this Poacher's Gun in your Backpack and you find what you are looking, the hammers are the last thing you see.....

Perhaps, but as a nonpoacher, I'd find the hammers a bit of an issue I think.
