Someone here is ususally knowledgable!
I sent a set of fairly expensive set of Pentax binocs back to have the eye cups tightened. They damn near retract under their own weight. In classic modern BS form they won't touch them without the original receipt. They also won't offer a repair for a fee. THIS IS WHY I CURRENTLY ONLY PURCHASE LEUPOLD PRODUCTS!!!! (shameless plug) and quite frankly the 2 pairs of relatively inexpensive McKenzie Leupold binos I bought the kids are nicer than these anyway... but I digress. Short of a a crude mechanical fix, how can I get these eye cups tightened up? I am considering a piece of large diameter heat shrink or a produce rubber band (you know, a crude mechanical fix.) At that point they wound't retract, but I am not sure I would care?

Sorry to hear that about Pentax. I like the Leupold stuff as well (all my riflescopes are Leupold).

My now-ancient Swarovskis are always happily accepted by the good folks at their service center in New England (they even put new tubes(!) on them when the atmosphere inside them deteriorated a few years ago). I got stuck with them (by an unscrupulous ebay seller over 20-years ago now) and they saved my bacon (literally), even adding my name to the serial number as the owner of record. Used Swarovskis aren't ever cheap but...their service center is truly spectacular.

When you say eye cups (not being familiar with that model), are you referring to plastic sleeves that turn in and out on each barrel? Or, rubber eye pieces that fold back for people that wear eye glasses?

B&H photo probably has replacement cups, but worn plastic parts, that would be manufacturer only.
I damaged an eye cup on my Swaro spotter, and they had them. Rubber degrades in sunlight, be it fancy camera or telescope.

As far as meeting the “receipt requirement”, you probably have some latitude. They don’t know where you bought them unless you registered the warranty card.

If you strike out, buy a pkg of o-rings, heat in hot water, and place behind the loosened tubes. That will probably outlast all of us.

I reached out to Suddarth. For clarification... I am not refereing to a rubber eye cup, but the entire sliding eyepiece that I have always understood as pushed in for eyeglasses and out for no glasses.
