I suppose provenance is truly important.

Hit the arrow for lot 10. It brought a mere 1/3 of a million.

I know a guy who has an original Wells Fargo sawed off double barreled shotgun (I figured was used on a stagecoach) and a Wells Fargo strong box for sale for $2500.00. I offered to buy the shotgun but he wouldn't part with just one. Or at least he had it for sale back in January.

I think the bigger question is how much did you pay for a gun that turned into a parts gun.

Well in the case of the above mentioned gun it looks like it sold for close to a Million dollars.

I think that is a bit different than a parts gun.

I’ve never actually bought a parts gun. Parts cars were a different thing, I bought a few of those when I actually needed parts off them to finish a project I was working on. I think those days are over, I see people restoring cars I wouldn’t even have considered good parts cars.

Best,
Ted

The title was, of course, a joke. The gun is in fact a parts gun without the provenance, but a million dollar investment with it, which no one would dream of parting out or restoring.
