I guess my questions are:

1. Where did he obtain his apprenticeship?

2. What gunmaking centres did he visit on his walkabout?

3. When did he start making guns?

4. Where did he source his raw forgings and components?

His work strongly reminds me of Gustav Tichy of Moravska Ostrava(Mährisch Ostrau) and Olomouc is only say 90 km West(really SW) of Mährisch Ostrau. So possibly Teichman passed thru Tichy's shop, possibly was an apprentice there or just they were contemporaries ¿¿¿

Hello,

1. Where did he obtain his apprenticeship? - In Opocno Czech, DUO Dusek factory

2. What gunmaking centres did he visit on his walkabout? - I know he was a friend with Mr. Borovnik from Ferlach

3. When did he start making guns? He purchased his first workshop and shop from the late gunsmith Presker in 1934, Olomouc, Pekarska street 19

4. Where did he source his raw forgings and components? Belgium, Austria, Germany

Regarding Mr. Tichy from Ostrava, they were contemporaries, Teichman always referred to him as the best gunsmith of his time. He had strong ties to the Polish nobility to whom he manufactured weapons.

Best regards.

All is most interesting information. Sodia & Ludwig Borovnik are of Slovenian roots and Borovnik was too was very loyal to his Slovenian heritage / roots after being disparaged by the German occupiers, which took everything from him and sent him packing because he would not follow the rules of the Germans. But in the end he bounced back on top.

Interesting on the DUO Dusek factory as it has escaped my attention till now. Might you enlighten us with information on the DUO Duesk factory?

Jiri;

As to your great-grandfather's workshop of 1934. Do you have photos of how the workshop appeared in 1934 to say 1939. We are interested in what tools and so forth that would have been in a gunshop that built guns in the 1930's.
