Curious to know if 4 rounds of old custom-loaded 9.3x72R ammo would be of interest to a collector and how much they might be worth. They are in a old Remington "Empty Centerfire Cases" box. The label on the box has the following information: (Note that there is no area code in the company's telephone number.)
FARNSWORTH Ammunition RFD NO. 1 Milton, Vermont 05468 Fed. Mfg. Lic. No. 03-3046 Telephone 893-6657 Name................. Cartridge... 9.3x72R Bullet Wt.... 286 Load No. 3 Warning:-- KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN NO LIABILITY ASSUMED FOR ANY ACCIDENT OR INJURY RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THESE REMANUFACRURED CARTRIDGES

That would be a handsome cartridge if loaded with a cast-lead, paper-patched bullet.

Such old custom loaded 9.3x72R cartridges were likely loaded post WW2 when ammo in most metric calibers was not available except for very hard to find limited stocks of pre or wartime production. Cases for long, near 30-30 head size cartridges such as 9.3x72R and 8x72R were not available and custom handloaders had to resort to re-drawing American cases to the necessary length and smaller diameter head size. The 30-06 and 30-40 Krag were used to make such cases. I have a couple 8x72R cases in my accumulation of cases, that were re-drawn from 30-06 and remember seeing old adverts for such cases made from 30-40 Krag. The situation became less and less dire until now even boxer primed 9.3x72R are not too hard to find. Mike

To answer the original question- what are they worth? Couple bucks. I mean no cynicism, but rare are cartridges worth selling in quantities less than 20 imo. Even rarer are those worth selling shipping etc in quantities less than 10 (or 5)

Even rarer are those worth selling shipping etc in quantities less than 10 (or 5) I was thinking that perhaps those old custom reloads with the unusual bullet weight (286 gr.?) in an old box marked 30-40 KRAG supplied by a small custom reloading company no longer in business might be worth a little more to a collector,
