My newest is something of a conundrum. It's a J. P. Sauer and Son 12 gauge with extra full chokes, 2 3/4" chambers with a claw mounted scope. The only reason that I can think of for this shotgun would be driven game.
And even then it doesn't make a lot of sense. Cheaper model per all the punch type decoration.

Here, yes. Not many turkeys that you are allowed to shoot in Germany.

Black grouse but that seems unlikely. Foster slugs and pigs?

Could the scope be added on this side of the pond? It's a nice gun for sure.

Scope is mounted with typical German claw mounts and the scope is also German. Thinking maybe rifled inserts.

I have seen a similar set up before for wildfowling over ponds in France ,the scope was on a rail allowing it to move on discharge. Holts had one for sale fairly recently and TGS outdoors had Johnnie and Simon ,can’t recall either surname, attempting to shoot clays with one.

Is the scope a low magnification one with big lenses for shooting at last light?

Conventional wisdom is that extra full chokes is not very good for slug accuracy. Maybe he found a load that was an exception to the "rule".
