Patented August 15, 1905 it was designed specifically for the Mauser 98. The No. 35 was adapted to all 1898 System Mauser, including the Waffen-Fabrick, Sauer, Jeffery's, Westly Richards, Spanish, Peruvian, and Argentine Models. The sight featured screw adjustsable windage and elevation, a turn down peep, along with a screw in eye piece with .6875 in diameter . The No. 35 was last cataloged in 1943." Old Gun Sights and Scopes by Nick Stroebel
This sight fits in the bolt stop using the bolt stop screw and a set screw in the sight base. No tapping of the reciever is needed. A small about of wood under the bolt stop needs cut out. The eye piece is not included it is long gone. The sight maintains 90% bluing and it appears to me original.
