I just found these two links with cool vintage photos of hunters, rifles, and game. In the first link (www.huntingpa.com) the third photo shows a lady named Thelma Martens with a big non-typical whitetail. I can’t quite make out the rifle she’s holding. I’m guessing it’s a Winchester 71. What do others think? I thought others here might also enjoy these photos.

The rifle is a Model 99 Savage, the same model two more successful hunters are pictured with on this link. One of Townsend Whelen's favorites. I have killed deer with mine in .22 Savage High Power, .250-3000 Savage and .300 Savage.

I see it now. I just couldn’t make it out from that angle. I’ve always thought Savage 99’s were very classy rifles. Thank you
