Thanks Bob. I appreciate honesty. I really do.

I think this is a wonderful gun, but I am curious about how the "Art configured" long tang got reconfigured into a short tang. If I were Art, I would have left it a long tang.

Sorry for any confusion.
The configuration of this gun is and will remain Round Knob LONG Tang.
Art installed the LONG trigger tang when he fitted the 28 gauge barrels.

And you are correct Mr M., this is a wonderful gun.

Not taking any sides in this but Lot 75 in the upcoming G&D auction should answer this question.

When a gun has an unfitted unfinished barrels fit and finished to a gun by a factory trained individual what is the down side I know it's a very expensive proposition and a rare combination of gauge /caliber Barrel length.

Let's check in after the auction.
F8, 1968 28 gauge. I've never seen a 28 gauge Pointer sell for as little as $10,000
I'll throw out a guess, this gun will go for north of $15,000.
It's a scarce Pointer grade subgauge and a 2 barrel set to boot.

Show me 28/410 Pointers for $10,000 and I'll buy them all day long.

2/3
I see where this gun is a Salt Wood Superposed.
It will be interesting to see how this affects its price.

I suppose it has,
Lot 75, a Pointer Grade, Salt Wood 2 barrel set, sold for $18,000.

It’s pretty shocking anyone would pay $18,000 for a saltwood,,,,even a Pointer grade subgauge. I’d hate to have to resell it.
