Unfortunately I am to be the bearer of sad news: the passing of Richard Brewster. I just learned of this thru Wolfgang.

Raimey, how would we know of Richard's contributions to the doublegun community, or any other area besides his belief in witchcraft which you made us aware of? From your post his main contribution in life was his book on meditation, as influenced by witchcraft.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Stan;

It is mediation not meditation and according to his obituary he was a law professor. As to his book I suspect it was a tongue in cheek title, but I have not researched it on the web as of yet.

I do not remember him but I looked up his obituary:

RICHARD BREWSTER OBITUARY

BREWSTER--Richard. Richard Warren Brewster died on July 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma from asbestos exposure on 9/11. Son of Warren D. Brewster and Marion D. Brewster. Devoted brother of Thomas (Mary) Brewster; predeceased by siblings Isabel Van Dine and Samuel Brewster. Cherished husband of 31 years to Barbara B. Brewster. Loving father to Sylvia, Scott (Amelie) and Darrah Brewster. Adoring grandfather to Will and Charlotta Brewster. A graduate of The Green Vale School, St. Paul's School, Princeton University and Harvard Law School. Rich had an extraordinary close bond and unwavering loyalty to his dearest friends and family. A superb, sophisticated litigator in both public service and private practice, he retired from practicing law in 2016 and became a mediator and adjunct professor of mediation, roles that he relished and excelled in. During the pandemic lockdown he wrote and published, "Witchcraft Legacy, Stories from the Big Attic", a compelling family memoir. A true gentleman; humble, compassionate, genuine. A man of grace. He was youthful, energetic, with a lifelong passion to lend a hand and improve the lives of others. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and upland bird hunter, with a great love for Central Park. The untimely loss of Rich Brewster leaves an unimaginable void, but his remarkable legacy will live on through his adoring family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Richard W. Brewster's name to: -Adopt-A-Bench program in Central Park http://support.centralpark nyc.org/goto/Richard_ Warren_Brewster -Mesothelioma Research Fu- nd. (Please write on memo of check: In memory of Richard Brewster, Mesothelioma Fund): Dr. Kimberly Song, Dept. of Thoracic Surgery, 1190 5th Ave., Box 1023, New York, NY 10029.

Rich was on the very top of the list of true gentlemen I have ever met. One of those people you loved to talk with as his background was so varied. He could add interesting things to any conversatiion. For the last dozen years I and a few lucky friends, have enjoyed Rich during partridge, sharptail, and pheasant hunts in Saskatchewan and Montana. His plan was to come to the pheasant opener here on Oct. 8, but that sadly did not happen. I sure will miss him.

This looks like an Auto-Complete error... although the Lefevers assembled in Ithaca, N.Y. after the sale in 1916 might be considered leftovers.

Actually, Rich Brewster was the "Responsible Person" who headed the Lefever Arm Collectors Association some years back, when I first became interested in them. He did do a great job with the newsletter, and was pretty knowledgeable about Lefever Guns and the Company. His insights as an attorney compelled his interest into the legal wranglings that went on after Dan Lefever sold his interest in the Lefever Arms Co. to the Durston family. The communications and questions I had with Rich about Lefever Guns were always cordial and helpful. He was obviously a dedicated Lefever collector, and his knowledge will be missed by those of us who are interested in a Gun Company that has so many mysteries and missing facts. I felt Mr. Brewster did a much better job of trying to uncover the whole lost Lefever story than the current leadership, and I'm no longer a member of LACA because it stopped being worth the annual dues.

My sincere condolences to his family, and to all of us too. His contributions here will be missed.

A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

Perhaps now I'll have to read his last book...
