I'm going out on a limb and say it's horn. My 57 Super is horn but all my other Supers (1965 and later) are plastic. If you have the gun in hand, you can tell. The differences are apparent in color and gloss. And many horn plates have holes in them where weevils have had a meal or two.

I have the gun. Someone added a white line vented pad to the butt. The butt is 14” so at least it’s not cut. Just want to add the correct plate.

The circa light 20 A5 1959 model of my Dad’s has a horn buttplate.

I could be wrong, but I think you'll have a hard time obtaining a horn buttplate these days.

Sorry, I see you wee referring to a Browning, my confusion, please excuse my wasted reply. As an aside my FN manufactured O/Us from that era have Horn.
