If there are any antique German SXS lovers, I have an interesting 16 ga. hamergun that I am trying to identify. I have lots of photos that I can pass on. The barrels are inscribed with La KRUPP'SCHER GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL. I understand Krupps were barrel manufacturers to many gun builders, but not actual gun manufacturers. Also, faintly inscribed on the barrels is: F SEGMAVA on the right barrel and WELLHEIM on the left barrel. I have no idea what those signify. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help solve this myste ry.

I don't recognize Büchsenmacher F. Segmava in Wellheim right off, and guess him to be a Bavarian firearms merchant. Are you positive of the spelling?

Thanks for your reply. I am searching all over the forum and cannot find anything allowing me to post photos of the German Hammergun. Any tips?

I am not positive about the spelling. Very faint on the gun.

I just realized that I do not have a good photo of the markings on the receiver with the barrels removed. The gunsmith has the gun for a new firing pin, but I can get the photo if you think it may help.

ellenbr was kind enough to post my photos, thank you! I just realized that I do not have a good photo of the markings on the receiver with the barrels removed. The gunsmith has the gun for a new firing pin, but I can get the photo or any others that you think may help. Thanks again to all!

These >>F.E.T.<< more than likely denote effort by a Triebel mechanic like Friedrich Emil Triebel. I am not positive that name is correct but there were Triebel mechanics that had those names. The maker paid the extra fee for the voluntary semi-smokeless proof. I think that is the 1st time I have seen it that high on the flats? The platform is Austrian and more than likely was sourced from Ferlach. Text on the sides of the tubes looks to read Kruppscher Gewehrlauf Stahl? Serbus, Raimey rse

spentwings While the gun was proofed with a nitro powder, it was made with 65mm (2 1/2"- 2 9/16") chambers. This length ammo is available. Mike

After the holiday, I will try to get better shots of the barrels. Also, the gun has a couple of screws that are definitely not stock. Do you know of any sources that might fabricate gun screws?
