Anyone know where I might buy some 9.3x72R or .366 cast bullets? I can't find anyone that has any on line. Could also use a set of dies.

Anyone know where I might buy some 9.3 or .366 cast bullets? I can't find anyone that has any on line. Could also use a set of dies. The first place I would look is Buffalo Arms. I don't know what they have, but they seem to have more cast rifle bullet (nonmuzzleloader calibers) than anyone else i know. They also make absolutely superb moulds if you wanted to go that way (and do not be put off by the "out of stock" issue - them make them on an as needed basis. Usually, quite fast).

This is just another example of Ed's unwillingness to look for an answer himself. This is the one thing about Ed that has buggered me for longer than any of his other unsavory habits. Ed, do something for yourself, for once, and quit suckering off of others.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Mike Harrell, If you have not "slugged" the barrel, you should do so. We find 9.3x72Rs that need bullets from .357-.358"( sometimes as small as .352") all the way to .366-.368". It seems that most fall somewhere around .362-.364". This is why the 193 grain jacketed bullets for these rifles is specially made to be useable in varying diameter barrels. If you are lucky, you might be able to use 35 cal. bullets made for 35 Remington rifles. The .365-.366" jacketed bullets made for the 9.3x62 and 9.3x74R should not be used, as they are too hard to expand at 9.3x72R velocities. You might check with Buffalo Arms, after you verify the diameter bullet you need. The 9.3x72R is fun, because each one seems to be different. Mike

Mike, I suggest .364". If you can't find what you want, after a search of cast bullet suppliers, PM me your address and I will stake you to a few 208 gr. .364" diameter, from G&H # 512c mold. I don't have a license and can't sell them but will give you a few to get through a rough time. Mike

Mike It is a really generous and nice gesture to offer some free bullets to a fellow shooter to assist in load development. But I have never heard that there is any sort of licensing requirement for selling cast bullets.Over the years, I have bought quite a few bullets, along with primers, cases, powder, and other reloading components from individuals at gun shows. In fact, I can't recall attending a single gun show where this practice was not commonly done.

Think I may have some somewhere for my 9.3 x 74R. Do not remember if they have been sized or not. May be able to locate sizing die but it has been decades. Not sure of weight but 286 sounds vaguely familiar. Let me know if you have an interest and I will try to dig them out. No charge but shipping if I happen to find them. IF I have not loaded them in the past 40 years, not likely to do it in the next 20 or so.

Thanks Der Ami and Tyler. Tyler I think that the 286 will be too heavy for the 72, thanks anyway. Der Ami I have just found some Hawk 200gr .365 that they say are in stock. We'll see.

I buy my bullets from Hawk. Have you telephoned them or looked at their website? Looks to me like they have what you want.

thought i might have a few of the 1960's norma bullets for the 9.3 x 72r....left over from many years ago. a search failed to turn them up....norma sold what they called a two diameter bullet for the round, 193 grains if i remember correctly. could have sworn there were 15 or 20....i'll look again tomorrow.
best regards, tom
