Keith,
Good morning.
Funny you say that. After my initial trial moving a tube filled with shot under the barrels, I filled the cavity with #9 shot and thought about tamping it at intervals. I could actually get 7oz of #9 in the channel! Then the tungsten idea came to me, but I too think Kutter coming up with the ceroasafe idea trumps all. smile What an awesome wealth of information here.

Thank again everyone.
Best,
Bill

ithaca1,
If you decide to use Kutter's great suggestion, I suggest further that you stuff a small plug (ball) of 0000 steel wool into the barrels to act as a dam to precisely locate the Cerrosafe where you want it. If you want a specific weight, you can weigh it before melting and either add or subtract pieces, it will weigh the same after cooling. Pay close attention to the instructions and don't move the gun until it has gone through the shrinking and expanding phases. Otherwise the weight may move to the wrong place. BTW, I agree with the others about the quality of Kutter's suggestions.
Mike

Galazan sells a weighted leather handguard that adds 3.4 oz to a 28 ga. May not be just where you want the weight though.

You're welcome, Bill. Wonder what my commission on $45 will be?

I finally got some time to make this happen. A dam was built with 4o steel wool, 18" in from the muzzle using a coat hanger to position it. The area between the barrels was filled all the way to the muzzle with cerrosafe. It took 3.5 oz which is perfect. I finished off the muzzle with a flat block and 1500 grit. REALLY happy with the results. Now off to the skeet field!! Its eye brow raising how different the gun feels with such a small change. It now weighs 5lbs 4.5oz.

You nailed it Kutter!!!
