I have to make up my mind in the next day or so if attending the ShotShow, SCI and Benfield. Coming from Canada presents a few challenges and restrictions.

I will be in Vegas and will get to attend at least one day of the Benfield show. I am looking forward to it. I never expect to be able to afford much or anything at this show so I am not disappointed! I attended the Tulsa show this past November for the first time ever, and it will probably be the last time. I was not at all impressed with the dramatically inflated prices on practically everything there. I was especially not too happy with some of the dealers like the one who wanted to sell me a genuine Holland and Holland Two gun travel trunk. Started at $500 plus and came down to $299 before I finally tired of listening to his BS. Anyway, looking forward to the show in Vegas and may see some of you all there.

Beinfeld, Beinfeld. High asking prices, bullshit, imagine finding those items at a gun show!

You might not trust the Naysayers. I have been to the Vegas show over 30 times and had a table at least half of those times. I have sold many items, sometimes, selling out. I have also bought many interesting items over the years. Additionally, one meets many good people with similar interests. Without Vegas, what is your alternative ?

I purchased one double and a very nice case at the show two years (?) ago. I just enjoy looking at everything there. I go knowing that I will not be able to afford many of the guns I see but that does not dissuade me in any way from going and enjoying it. The Tulsa show was different (to me at least) in that the items that normally would have been priced appropriately were not. Everything was high. Everyone with ammo priced it as if it was the last on the planet. Ordinary guns, a Post 64 Winchester 94 for instance, priced at $1000 with no box, etc. A Stevens 311 much like the one I got when I was 13 - $1200. The list goes on and on. At least in Vegas at the Benfield shows I have attended most of the prices were accompanied by the quality pieces you would expect at those prices. Anyway, I look forward to it and am sure I will enjoy it once again.

As a bonus, usually the Engraver’s Guild and the Custom Knife Makers will have tables at the Vegas show. Lots of talent and beautiful things. The Lefever Collectors will have a few tables, too.
