I see the upcoming Holts Auction has eight 8 bores and four 4 bores coming up for auction. That’s as many big bores as I can recall in a single auction. Would love to inspect them in person. Heck, would love to own on and be able to use it on flighted game.

Quite a few at Giles Marriott as well. I imported two from him last shipment. They are really neat. If you bid on a four bore, be sure it is an antique. The BATF will not approve importing a modern four bore, they have no input on antiques.

No not on most of them. That Horsley might be the prettiest big bore I have seen, not your typical collection that is for sure.

It is an 8 ga though. Massive and with very long barrels. Must weigh 20 lb. If you are interested the dealer's phone number is 218 732 6991. Name is Gary Asproth.
Anyone know of Johnstone?

That should be Douglas V. Johnstone. Johnstone purchased J.P. Clabrough & Bros in 1892. His bio is in Larry Shelton's book "J.P. Clabrough Birmingham Gunmaker"
