recently saw a 20 ga parker dhe repro with P serial number prefix...google suggests guns with this marking were made for special purpose...such as prototypes, personal use or promotional activities...google also indicates these guns have very low serial numbers and unusual stock dimensions...your thoughts?

Ed, They are general thought of as "Prototypes". They are usually different in some way from production line guns. They may also have been gifts or promotional items (some theorize). I 0wn P-0041X which is a three barrel set with 20/16/16 GA barrels. Bob Jurewicz

bob, interesting combo...an 41x is the highest numbered p gun i have heard of so far...
google also revealed that 16 ga barrels were made by krieghoff in germany and shipped to japan for assembly into multi barrelled sets...
understand csmc bought up surplus stock of 16 ga barrels for parker repros and fitted them to guns as well...
sadly, also read that stock of surplus parker repro parts stored in nj, were destroyed by a hurricane...
except for the unreliable single trigger and excess weight, parker repros are wonder guns...

i still say, csmc missed the boat when they failed to mass produce fox sterlingworth repros...including 28 ga and 410 bored guns...
perhaps there is still hope, yet?

I do not believe the barrels that Tony had were Krieghoff. He attempted to make is own replacements. The Project did not go well. Tony did and still does have Krupp barrels for Ithaca Classic Doubles. Bob Jurewicz
