Yep I looked there but gun was made definitely 1910-1924. Nothing panned out from there. Littlegun is the go to site for Belgium gun marks but unfortunately turned up 0 this time. Maybe this LF guy just made action or was engraver. Possibly mark for Belgium gun made for foreign distribution? skeettx's source document should rule out production in 1922-3-4, because the gun lacks the single letter dating system that was used starting in 1922.

Turns out this is LE not LF. Stumbled on this after lots of searching. I missed it first time. But this gun was made before LE took over record name? Barrel marks say before 1910-1924 but Le guys supposedly didn’t take over till 1927? Guess they were making frame before they took over Record trademark.

So, would it be assumed that the last name first and 1st name last as the French speaking makers do sometimes? I would think for E. Leruite would stamp <<E.L<< ant not >>L.E.<<, but it is possible.

Now, I haven't put a glass on it, but upon enlargement of the 1st image, it sure looks like the letters >>LF<<?
