That gun is indeed pristine right down to the case colors. It has never been shot (and I can't blame the buyer - fear is a factor). It has Steel barrels - post 1876...
Now here's what I would want to know.
1) What is the address on the rib or barrels?
2) What is the SN on the barrels, action flats etc. (Reilly marketed a lot fo 4 bores but unless he made them himself, he did not serial number them).
2) That half-grip was never (have to qualify this - "almost never") used on a classic Reilly (except on big-bore fowlers). it was used extensively on post 1922 "Riggs Reilly's.
3) The proof marks and the SN would be key - The seller doesn't seem to want to post these.
I have tried to send a note to the seller asking questions. The site doesn't seem to allow this. I would assume this is a 4 bore marketed by Reilly 1870's-1890'a.
Hopeful this hammer gun is a true Reilly. How about some true pictures of the address, proof marks, etc.
