Hi Keith I�m saddened that a month to reflect hasn�t given rise to a change in your perspective. Your best bet would be to get out a bit more and make some friends. Concentrate on enjoying your shooting and draw a line under your anger. It would be far healthier for you to find common ground with fellow contributors instead of continually waging proxy wars on behalf of dodgy politicians, as most of them are, and tying yourself in knots with your bitter postings. Your preoccupation with how clever fellow contributors are ,or rather their perceived lack of intelligence by yourself , is obsessive and a pitfall. Frequently, perceived higher intelligence leads to arrogance and a lack of empathy for others and isn�t always the positive trait that one may expect or hope for.If the picture painted in the private investigator deleted thread of a sad ,overweight ,unkempt ,shuffling ,bitter ,old guy living in a garage unable to sustain relationships is even half true you would be more constructively employed working on finding common ground with the FUDDS of this world as you call them as they frequently have a better outlook on life than I witness in your increasingly disturbing posts. Of course those criticisms aren�t relevant to just you but it seems that participating in combative threads is taking a heavier toll on you than most other contributors.

Welcome back after about a month yourself, any progress to report on the common ground front? In some places, the privilege to claim ownership of a shotgun or hunt ducks is slipping away at a rapid pace. There might be a friend or two to make in a few years, but will there be duck hunting?

Buzz, I have spent a long time ignoring most of Keith's attacks. On me and on other people. What I have learned is that ignoring him or adding fuel to the fire makes no difference to the frequency or foulness of his posts. Occasionally I'll call out his total bullshit. You should try it, as should everyone else here, instead of tacitly supporting his disgusting behavior by your silence. That's how bullies make their way in the world. The silence of others.

Hi craigd I had to take some time out I was diagnosed with av2 block so I now have a pacemaker to overcome bradycardia. I feel much better now and looking forward to my forays after duck and geese.
The season started on 1st of September and finishes on the foreshore on the 20th of February. I normally wait until the end of the brown trout season on 5th October before I venture out wildfowling.
Shotgun certificate applications here are high and refusals run about 2% or less. Geese numbers are increasing each year so much so that in some areas Canada and Greylag geese are shot year round. Breeding mallard have increased threefold since 1975 and numbers of Pinkfeet geese overwintering from Iceland continue to rise.
Wildfowlers continue to bag good numbers of overwintering wigeon, teal and geese, frequently taking the geese with the old 8 or 4 bore side by sides or singles.Flighting under the moon on the foreshore for wigeon coming in to splashes and geese coming inland to feed under the light of the moon is still enjoyed by many.
My cousin has looked out our decoys and Im looking forward to getting my Konor 3 inch out for the geese both inland and on the foreshore.Theres no restriction on number of shotguns owned so I can pick from one of four 3 inch magnums ,go with the Beretta Extrema or my AYA 10 bore.
I�m hoping to still be making friends and enjoying wildfowling for some time to come.
My friends and I took just over 600 wild ducks two seasons back on flight ponds mainly teal, mallard and wigeon.
I�m not keen to hang around the site much now ,it�s the same old arguments from the same old people. I�m much preferring using my time to enjoy the double gun scene over here ,there�s plenty of old side by sides to enjoy and the coming game season should give me plenty of opportunities to get some hands on fun with some interesting old pieces.
How are things Stateside are you concerned about the future of duck hunting in your neck of the woods?
