Great information. I hope I won't have to replace the stock on that Cogswell & Harrison, but I also have a German single-shot rifle, sold to me by a crook on Gun Broker (who vanished immediately after the sale). He skillfully omitted photos of how badly that poor gun had been butchered by some idiot. Someone glass-bedded the stock after removing the key barrel lock and replacing it with a screw right through the bottom of the stock fore-end. It would be a nice gun if restored.
