I have replaced the bolt with a rod, threaded on both ends, and a nut and washer to replace the bolt head.
The rod is threaded into the action and bent as required for the stock hole.
Has worked for me. but I am only a dm coloni...
I've done exactly the same on an underhammer - A nut on both ends makes way more sense, even with a straight bolt.
I have a Borchardt/Helms Schuetzen rifle I built that has an articulated bolt with a nut on the end. Just had to work around a drop in the wrist that was problematic.
