This is the BEST gun grease I've ever used. Came with my Kolar:

Very strong film strength.

The Amsoil EAL arrived today.

It looks promising. It has about the same physical properties as the Coastal at first inspection except it's red for some reason and has a faint petroleum odor.

I have high hopes for it.

The CMD gun grease seems to be unobtainable. They show a 'high pressure lubricant' that may be the the same product.

For now, I'm going to test drive the Amsoil EAL and see if it's close enough to my old standby.

As long as we're dropping names, the 'K-Glide' that came with my used Krieghoff is pretty much worthless. It's a waxy light grease that seems to have been whipped up in a blender like someone wanted to make a grease smoothie. The original owner didn't use it and I don't either. Krieghoff sees something in that lube that I sure don't. At least it's available, unlike the Kolar stuff.

I’d suggest you give consideration to lubricants that have an EP rating, rather than thinking they are “waxy”. EP is fairly important on a hinge pin.

Best,
Ted
