I have 1905 and a 1903 M/S and a curious about the differences in the stocks. The 1905 is contured neatly around the magazine, however the 1903 looks cluncky and squared off, is this normal. I am confident the 1903 stock is an original one although it has some condition challenges that can be corrected. I am thinking about reshaping it similar to the 1905 when cleaning it up.

I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

Not normal. All the M/S stocks I remember were shaped like the one on the left (your M.1905).

With kind regards,

Yup, not original. But you could round it up like the gun on the left.
