Well, I think I am witnessing a scam right now. About a month ago I had a bid on a gun with an auction house through icollector. The bids started about 21 days before the actual auction. I was high bidder until about the last 4 days when my maximum was surpassed by another bidder. I wasn't going any higher. 2 days before the auction expiry date I was suddenly high bidder again. Someone else did outbid me in the end.
I had the exact same thing happen today regarding another gun. I was high bidder until yesterday when I was outbid. The auction is over tomorrow and I'm suddenly high bidder again this afternoon. Both times were with the same auction house. Per icollector terms of agreement, a bid once place cannot be retracted. I sent them an email asking what is going on but haven't heard back yet.

keet, more deviously deceptive reporting...what i said was, "dig up something more current, if you can, and perhaps i will respond...otherwise, go blow smoke elsewhere...many of us are on to your terrible deceptive reporting...maybe you should be working for cnn...or do you already?"

guns: interesting...sounds like auction house may be removing bids from bogus hacker bidders? if they respond, would be curious to know what they have to say...

That could be one reason but I'm looking at it as more likely the auction house is fishing for higher bids on guns that they thought would go higher. Both times the same auction house. I have had bids with other auction houses hooked up with icollector and no issues with them. In this current auction, there was another gun I was interested in but didn't want to buy both. So when I was out bid on the one, I decided to bid on the other. As it stands, I now have high bid on 2 guns.

Methinks, oh Messer of the Canucklands, you are played for a chump. I'd drop this auction house like a hot potato (or is it spelled "potatoe" in your baliwick?? RWTF

me thinks the days of crooked auction house are a thing of the past...to easy to get caught...to much to loose...hit aint worth the risk...

Wherever there is money to be made there will be greed. Wherever there is greed there will be crooks. Auction houses are not exempt. The temptation is too great for some to resist it.

I once asked a friend who owned a dozen gas station/convenience stores about theft by employees. He said occasionally a cashier will stick a 20 in their pocket when they know full well that a ceiling camera directly over their head is filming their every move. Point is ........ the fear of getting caught doesn't deter crooks.

Isn't your return policy a nearly impossible thing, simply because you have been so paranoid as to think that someone may buy one of your tarted up guns, and then try to return it after switching parts from it with defective parts from their gun?
