Quite a story w/ Saul Eig in that he just may have been an aviator, that is unless there were 2 Saul Eigs & 2 Lois Eigs(Watson)?

Before the 1968 Gun Control legislation threw a monkey wrench in his business plans, Saul Eig imported his Italian pistol wares from Fabrica d'Armi Tanfoglio Giuseppe (not to be confused with Fratelli Tanfoglio - so F. / Brothers would come 1st). Tangoglio pistols had steel frames so when the 1968 Law was applied, Saul Eig turned to Zamak, or alloy frames made in the U.S. of A.

If an Italian O/U from the period wears EIG & >>Senator<<, sources give that it was made by A. Zoli.

I tried with a 2HB. I used light ,medium and hard pressure with no luck. Here is a better picture of the serial number.

Much better indeed. The 1st letter looks like a S, but I can't say. However, I will say the last character is the ampersand.

Not at all sure just yet. How 'bout on the buttplate, standing breech? Or there any odd marks on the water-table?

Yeah, that is what I am reading on other very similar O/Us from the period:

>>G. Bignotti &<<

>>what looks like a crown over an arrow with the letters G.B.F.<<

>>...has a larger shield with crown on top with initials GBF inside the shield.....<<

Maybe G. Bignotti & Fratelli????

Giovanni Bignotti is still active so if I possessed images of the action & serial number, he may respond with info from his ledger.
