I'm looking for any information about this maker who would have been working in the 1850's- 1860's period, probably in France or Belgium.

Daryl, I think you're right. The seller called it Genel, and his photos aren't very good, but it does appear now to end in Z. I'll edit the spelling. Thanks.

Genez, a very high quality maker from N.Y. He was one of the forerunners of muzzle loading conversion to breechloaders. First to pinfires, then on to centerfires. His muzzleloaders were high quality and ofte3n used the best engravers of the time for gold name inlay and engraving.
